Icelandic Sheepdogs are confident, playful, and inquisitive. The breed is social and patient, making them another good choice for families with children. Easily trained, hardy, and agile, they were once used to herd cattle, sheep, and horses in their native country. It is thought to be one of the oldest breeds of dogs in the world.
Icelandic Sheepdogs will compete in the Herding Group. Their ideal size is 18 inches tall at the shoulder for males and 16 1/2 inches tall at the shoulder for females.
