  1. All are very good, but I am partial to the Edaville Railroad picture. Lots of childhood memories there. Good luck to all. Very nice.

  1. I like the simplicity of #4 - melting ice.

  1. All the pics are great ... but I agree with Dave ... I love the "Edaville Railroad" picture ... awesome memories of going there as a child.

  1. Grist Mill, Sudbury, would be OUTSTANDING with less snow at the bottom of the picture, Pine Cones is good, Tis the Season for Ice looks like she's being sucked off the boardwalk by the tree branches, and Candy Cane Ornaments is striking.

  1. Any idea when voting will open? And how will it work this time?

  1. Hi, Matt -- the judging will work the same way it has worked the past couple of months: Our professional judge will make the first cut down to 50 sometime this week ... might not be until Friday, depending on what she can work out with her schedule. We'll then open public voting for 5 days, then return to her and ask her to choose the Top 10, taking your votes into consideration. My goal is get the winners posted by the 15th, but it might be a day or two later than that.

  1. just floating this out there...

maybe have the pro narrow down to 25 or 30 or so where there is a smaller number of entries this month?

    What do you think?

  1. I hope the smaller number of entries is just due to people being too busy during the holidays and not because of waning interest in this site. It was really exciting to see hundreds of entries come in in the past couple of months.

  1. chalk it up to the holidays for sure. I for one almost missed the contest - good thing I had a shot that was applicable!
