January 'What's That?' 3rd Place photo

And the winner is ...Jill Henry, who wins because Sara already won the Second Place photo guessing contest!
Sara's description was the most detailed and absolutely accurate: "This is a close up of a cheese grater. While the photographer is captured in the reflection of the metal grater, that isn't where the focus lies as the pierced holes are the most in focus ... it almost appears as though the holes that are in focus are the second layer in a 3-D grater (not a single sheet grater). So we are looking through/past the holes in the first layer to be able to see the exposed holes in the second layer."
Since we said that guessers couldn't win on two photos, we moved on to the next candidates.
Erica was the first one to guess cheese grater, but Jill's detail that "the photographer focused on his own reflection rather than the grater to good effect" was a specific detail that tipped the scale in her favor.
But given that "cheese grater" was a tough item to discern from the photo (tougher than say, the oil on water of the Second Place photo), our photographer asked that we send Erica a prize pack, too. Done.
LB the photographer writes, "The cheese grater does have multiple sides and I was focusing in on the holes in the back layer."
LB used a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with an exposure of 1/13 sec. at f/4.5, ISO 1600, and a focal length of 34mm.

Cheese Grater
Cheese grater. The photographer focused on his own reflection rather than the grater to good effect.
I never would have guessed cheese grater... I was initially thinking water on a window, but the grater looks right.

Kitchen cheese grater
okay, my guess is also a cheese grater.
Reflection in a wet mirror.
It is a double sconce wall light
The "Scream"
light bulbs reflected in christmas ornament
A reflection of a wall sconce and the photographer in a cheese grater.

A ball peen hammer
a nutmeg grinder
It's a closeup of a Christal chandelier, but it is out of focus. The focus is on the reflection of the a light in the crystals with other light behind the photographer.
Maybe something at the Wang center, or something similar, like a restaurant.
A reflection of a photographer thru a cheese grater.

A clear glass (beer?) mug with scalloped indentations reflecting the photographer and a light source behind the photographer probably a pair of sconces on a wall.
Photographers reflection in a microplaner
Photographers reflection on the cheese grater
reflection of photographer in christmas ornament was first guess, although cheese grater seems likely!
austin the 4 yr old says a bunch of worms!
it almost looks like a wall-mounted light bulb type image as seen through a prism
Thank you LB and Teresa!
