I came across a cool Flickr group: The Items We Carry. The criteria for that group is simple, and one I'll adopt for this contest: Take a photo of the most commonly found items in your pockets or on your person, arranged.
However, I will break with that group's rules in one aspect: The admin of that group, Naz Hamid (absenter on Flickr), doesn't want photos of the contents of pocketbooks unless you're a woman who wears clothes that don't have pockets. However, I'll take the contents of purses or pockets. The items just have to be things that you actually carry with you every day.
I've been asked (see below) if one could photograph something like a hat. I prefer that the items you shoot be things that you carry, not wear. One of the points of the contest is for your photos to tell others something about yourself by displaying items from your pockets and purses that usually are hidden. Think of these photos as revelatory as well as riveting.
These are set-up shots. You can focus on just one item if it's a compelling shot, but try your hand at arranging several things in such a way that makes for an interesting composition.
Even though I overslept this month and we've lost two days, I think this is an easy enough assignment that we can re-instate the rule that your photo must be taken this month.
Here are the contest tags; just copy and paste this string of tags into the tags field in the right column of your Flickr photo page:
