Meet the April 'Doorways' judge

Stephan Jacobs, our judge for the April "Doorways" contest, has a varied and impressive background.

He earned a bachelor of fine arts from the San Francisco Art Institute and a masters of fine arts in photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

He is a special instructor of art/photography at Emmanuel College, and has worked at the New England School of Photography as an adjunct photography instructor since 2006.

Stephan was INC Magazine's photo director for two years and a contributing photo editor at Fast Company magazine. He has experience with various aspects of the commercial end of the business.

His photo projects has received a number of local and national awards and grants, and is work is exhibited widely across the US and abroad.

Stephan is represented by Gallery Kayafas in Boston.
