The Japanese camera site Digital Camera Info (warning: the link is a Google translation of the Japanese language site, and the translation is not perfect) has released what it says are specs for the new Nikon D800, and the camera looks to be a behemoth.

The site says the camera will have a whopping 36 megapixels, have a full-frame sensor, shoot 4 frames per second (6 fps in DX mode with the optional battery pack), with full HD video, face recognition, and more.

Nikon Rumors then weighed in yesterday, saying it confirmed only the name and the 36MP.

Today, Nikon Rumors has these specs: ISO range 100 to 6400, ISO LO @ 50 and ISO HI-2 @ 25600. There will be a different D800 version/model (or maybe even a special edition) with the anti-aliasing filter removed. At least two other products will be announced with the D800 (probably lenses). NR also believes there will be a consumer DX lens announced later this month. Read more on NikonRumors.
