This is his worst spring yet, hence the word. "exceptionally"

Lackey has had a poor spring. Don't count ST stats much, but exceptionally bad springs for a pitcher can be a sign all is not well

Red Sox showing not much confidence in JBJ then. Well, lets see how long Sizemore lasts. Hope he does well as he has had a tough road the last few years.

Its not like the blog added much either, and the bloggers were saving the good stuff for their tweets anyways. Most people watch on TV and just go to the blog to comment on the game. Frankly, they d more »

None of the Red Sox young SP prospects have looked all that good in ST and their top pitching prospect has been shut down with a sore arm much of the spring

I have a feeling the Red Sox are going to be more susceptible to RHPing w/o Salty, Ellsbury and Drew. JBJ, WMB and AJP will all be lesser hitters against them. Of course, maybe Sizemore is the CF'er more »

How does he not get a DUI charge?. Look at his eyes. Looks like cops gave him a real break there. First by not charging him right away, and then for not booking him on a DUI charge as well, and resi more »

Sorry, I misread your post, yes, peavy is 5, or maybe 4 if you have Doubront at 5

I think a healthy Buchholz is probably number 1. If he is not healthy he should not even be number 5. 40% of SP'ers go on the DL list, so the question is which 2 go on and how long. Then it comes d more »

I don't argue the Red Sox are doing some smart and innovative things, they have been doing so since the current regime took over in 2002. However, I think that there was some luck involved last year more »

I laugh when people use anything about spring training to make predictions. Only exception is if someone is obviously hurt (like losing several mph off their FB)

The medical issues were not all about the in-house personnel, it was the MGH docs headed by Dr Gill. They are still using them. Gill had an inhouse position of Executive Medical Director or somethin more »

I still think Drew ends up with 3/30+, even if he waits till June. Players care more about total dollars than AAV. Everyone has rose tinted spectacles in ST, but when reality sets in April and May, more »

Look for Drew to be signed after this game

They were the scrubs for the most part
Posted 03/06/2014 10:53:41 EST
The Marlins can't even beat the Red Sox scrubs. ST is way too long mainly because teams and MLB are making a profit off it given the players, coaches and manager receive no salary. The regulars don more »

You have to understand that Salty is one of Theos boys. Ben can't do anything about Papi and Pedroia, the P&P boys adopted by JWH, who are also Theos boys, but pretty much everyone else associated wi more »

If Grady gets significant playing time it means something has went wrong with JBJ or Victorino. Be careful what you wish for.

The problem is not compensation, its the penalty for signing a FA (losing a pick). Keep compensation, end the penalty, problem solved. Its not a problem for teams since they have collaborated on an more »

I don't really know who gets credit for the Dodgers trade, that was the key. Who was most responsible for that one?
