It's a terrible system. No one is saying that small venues shouldn't pay anything. But it should be an appropriate amount with nonprofit venues exempted. And the musicians who play at these venues sho more »

A small venue can be required to pay $1,000 in performance rights fees, even though the music does not produce revenue. That's exorbitant for a small business or a nonprofit. Rights fees should be tie more »
