The writer meant "led," not "lead" in the fourth-to-last paragraph.Similarly, portebello likely meant "write," not "right."

For the next Globe voters guide, a note that identification will be required would be helpful. People at my polling place this morning were turned away because they did not have ID.

Not taking political stands also hurts people. The Gordon College students will learn other things that may be more important than their training would have taught them.
