In response to bosoxmal's comment: The last time this guy came up, he had three hits and made a couple of very nice plays at 3B. They gave im his cup of coffee, and his ticket back to Pawtucket. Now, more »

The contracts of Hanley (a known locker room cancer), Sandy (fat and on the decline in his 20's) and Porcello (slightly above average) would get most GM's fired alone.

I always liked the old school runs produced stat. RBIs plus runs scored minus home runs.

Chocking implies the team was good in the first place.

Poorly constructed roster with multiple bad contracts.

you get to see what you have in Betts, Swihart and Castillo. Pretty soon there will be no pressure on them at all. Bring up Brian Johnson while your at it.

The Boston Bruins have had Milan Lucic as part of their âcoreâ since he was drafted by the team in 2006, but his time with the organization could soon be ending â despite still being of the NHLâ more »

I'd promote Castillo ASAp.

What is the starting five ERA?

Brian Johnson might be ready. Couldnt be worse than what they are trotting out there. Castillo for sure. Like to get Swiharts bat in the lineup but dont necessarily want him behnd the plate. Vasqu more »

I am usually a half empty type but I think Mookie has a big year ultimately. Guy will adjust, has great hands at the plate.

Bucholtz is the ultimate feast or famine. Could throw a no no or get jacked for 10 runs in any outing. Not a guy I want to depend on in a big game.

Betts appears to be the lead off hitter/ run producer at the top of the lineup that this team sorely lacked. At the end of the day I dont think the Sox move Betts, Swihart or Bogey. Cheap, under tea more »

2. Jon Lester, LHP Prediction: Cubs â six years, $140 million This is more obvious than the Scherzer projection, given Lesterâs connection with his former Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein. 3. more »

Middy is going to improve his game by osmosis ths winter.
Posted 10/01/2014 10:26:22 EDT
Any deal that begins with Betts is a deal I probably dont like, particularly for pitching.
Posted 09/27/2014 04:26:31 EDT
Just curios as to what your thoughts are with giving Cecchini as shot at 3rd for next year? How much more would Sandoval or Valbuena give the Sox for the cost difference? Also has anybody heard who more »

Run producers at the top of the order are invaluable. I dont they move Betts. I think they sign a pitcher and aquire Sandoval more likely. I think Cespedes more likely to move than Betts if anythin more »

It would be foolish to trade Betts. Guys who can make things happen at the top of the order are hard to find. Also I dont trust Holt to repeat this years performance.
Posted 09/02/2014 11:23:04 EDT
I dont care where he plays, just want the leadoff spot solved for a decade. Really hoping he is the guy because Bogey and Middy gave us false starts, so taking a wait and see approach.

Middy makes Dave Kingman look like Rod Carew.
Posted 08/23/2014 11:33:23 EDT
It sure doesnt look like he has a future here with the Castillo signing. I got a feeling he ends up a 250-270 hitter and perenial gold glover. As I recall Dewy Evans couldnt hit water from a boat whe more »
