He's just another iteration of Willie Weld and Mitt Romney, who were absent during most of their terms, too.

Of course he doesn't want a trade. What other team would let him get away with never hustling down to first base, and hugging and chatting with all the opposing players during the game?

I don't know why Ortiz always escapes criticism. He never makes an effort to run to first base, and all he wants to do is to hug and chat with the opposing players. Not a good example, in my opinion.

Doesn't seem to explain why even though I use less electricity than I did a year ago, my bill is about 60% higher.

Ortiz might have the flu? Too bad for all those opposing players he's always hugging!

It's the switching twice a year that's so annoying. Pick one or the other, DST or EST and just leave it there.

So the managers of the electric utilities are, let's say, incompetent, and we're all paying for it.

None of those perks are enough to make me buy a car from one dealer over another.

Just shows how out of touch with reality these people are. How about a committee to make these apartments clean and safe for the students who have to live in them now?

Yeah, let's get the Cold War going full force again! Maybe we can go back and revisit Vietnam, too. Will we ever learn from our mistakes?

The Seahawks did New England fans another service, too. They've now replaced the '86 Red Sox as the team coughing up the biggest choke in a single game in the history of sports. (The 2004 Yankees stil more »

Your comment is an example of how the media can turn people on or off towards a player, sometimes with only a camera shot or two. Nomar never gave anything less than 100% when he was on the field, and more »

It was always just a gimmick anyway. Market Basket's prices are the lowest around, with or without the 4 percent, so I doubt whether it made a difference in anyone's decision to shop there. more »

That type of contract is more evidence of how much smarter Ben Cherington is than Theo Epstein.
How many ex-Red Sox are they still paying the salaries of thanks to Epstein?

I would hope that BC wouldn't make the same mistake they just finished making: Hiring an Ivy League coach because he won a game or two in the NCAA tournament.
