this olympics idea can't go away fast enough. and Shank's next article should be about how sneaky cheating Bob Kraft is using the Olympics circus as a diversion to get his soccer stadium agenda moved more »

agree, amazing college player. nothing left to prove there, on to the pros. only blemish was his World Junior showing. clearly fell short of expectations, just didn't have any impact the way he did in more »

baf - ever hear of a guy name Bobby Orr? he was pretty good, you should google him. and be sure to include the loyalty asterisk for bourque's ditching the team so he could go to colorado.

when he was competing with youk for the job he was a force. as sooon as he won it, he was on a slide
Posted 09/02/2013 07:26:29 EDT
did last year really happen?
why did middlebrooks sit? so frustrating to watch him hit .451 in his first 10 games back only to hit.158 since then.
Posted 08/10/2013 07:38:13 EDT
love to read about him when he plays well, but when he is awful does the Globe need to make it a full headline article? just don't care about players who are falling to the back of the pack

have to give these guys credit. after a regular season where they were questionable at best, they had a great playoff run - exceeded everyone's expectations.
Posted 06/25/2013 09:02:19 EDT
these guys were so far into bonus time, playing way beyond their talent level, really gave us a tremendous playoff run

batting .212 since he took the starting spot from Youk. send him to Pawt so he can make some contact

agree that middlebrooks should be in AAA to try to find his bat again. the guy was hitting .365 when he took the job from Youk. That was a year ago - since then he is hitting .212 how does a guy l more »

Finn described an NHL player as "wonderful" "WONDERFUL"!!! what was he thinking?

really a team win, but Tuuka is turning in a playoff performance that is statistically better than TT's "best-ever" a couple years ago. Tuuka has come up huge
Posted 06/06/2013 06:50:18 EDT
who is this team in the black & gold?
Tuuka has been great, rest of the team has been playing so solid.
Posted 05/24/2013 06:52:40 EDT
should have been put on PawSox roster instead of the DL. almost 1/3 way thru season and he's hitting .201, he's had enough time to show what he can do
Posted 05/17/2013 05:19:07 EDT
working his way back up over .200 hang on.....he may show us he belongs after all
Posted 05/08/2013 07:13:03 EDT
Middlebrooks isn't the only issue for this team, but when he fell off the cliff last year it should have been a clear sign that he was not to be relied upon this year. he had a lot to prove this year more »

have to admit I was wrong about Middlebrooks.....I thought he had all the tools to be a solid .225 hitter. he blasted right through that level and is now exceeding all my expectations
Posted 04/27/2013 08:39:23 EDT
@1 - one game doesn't make him a hitter, especially a game against the worst team in baseball. he's hitting .184, is hitless in half the games.....you OK with that production?
Posted 04/27/2013 08:20:40 EDT
pitchers getting it done big time, hitting starting to come around for top 2/3 of the order, this ain't so bad after all.... now they just need to end the Middlebrooks experiment. struggling to hit . more »

Beantown - where are you getting your stats? When the B's won the Cup, in the playoff run they averaged 3.24 goals per game, 5th best among all playoff teams, not 4.5 goals per game as you said. TT more »

you guys seem to forget that the B's would have lost their first round series against the canadians if TT didn't steal that series. He had the best playoff golatending performance ever - without him more »
