MALE, Upstate, NY

About Me: Sox fan from Yaz'z signing. (Played every day as a kid, then in High School and college, then coached baseball for many years: Little League and Babe Ruth League, certified umpire, Umpire in Chief of local Babe Ruth League for 5 years, suffered through many losing Sox seasons, didn't think much of Francona (he got caught "watching the game" too often; not nearly the baseball mind he was given credit for being!) Valentine a walking ego (still! for no good reason, if ever!). Bad decision and getting worse because he doesn't know enough to shut up! Grew up in a no-nonsense, baseball family (Father played Town Team ball in its heyday (1920s), was a big-time Yankee fan, saw them play numerous times (Ruth & company), buried wearing his Yankee cap (an official one); he wore one all his life. We always discussed Yankee games from reviewing the box scores in the paper, (papers full of them in those days for every team and game played, sadly needed today) and stayed on top of the standings throughout the season; Mickey Mantle my boyhood hero. Have five Grandsons who are all Sox fans today.

The Sox should lose the overwhelming effort to get their batting-practice pitcher his 200th. francoma is doing silly, strategically-nonsensical things to ensure it, things like using 300+ hitters and more »

Don't thank a couple guys who didn't get hits, thank francoma's typical poor pitching decisions. The best relievers threw fewer pitches than they do in warm-ups and left open bringing into a 1-1, extr more »
