I think part of BB's frustration is that Manning's teams are never called for intentional picks. I don't think that Welker was trying to hurt Talib but WW is lying when he says he didn't mean to hit h more »

No way they win in Baltimore this week. Brady had no one to throw to over 10 yards downfield and the line blocking can't give him the time anyway.

I think the helmet-helmet is just an excuse in this case. Going for the legs is the only way a small guy can bring down a big guy and if someone ends up hurt, that's the breaks..... Gronk and Hernande more »

I agree we know who they are. A hardworking team that has a chance against anyone but once they lost Mayo, Wilfork they had to be considered a really long shot to make/win the SB. Can't be helped (the more »

Brady needs to tone down his disappointment but who wasn't frustrated with Dobson's drops? But I am encouraged by how he seemed to be getting open. That wasn't true of some of the veterans they let go more »

Never mind the morality; just the stupidness of it takes my breath away. He must be on drugs or psychotic.

Yeah I believe if Hernandez and Gronk could have both stayed healthy, the team would have had at least 1 more ring. It's a shame for the fans. Time to rewatch the 2001 dvd....

I would like to think that, if for no other reason, he is not stupid enough to kill someone and throw away 10s of millions$ but its more likely that he IS stupid enough to cover for someone.

So the Tuck rule is gone. So what. It was the right call according to the rule at the time. There were many hits to the head in the past that caused fumbles and incompletions that changed games. You p more »

Wes deserves our total respect. He must have made a hundred key catches in the last few years. I do think they need to get bigger. Let's see what they come up with. I think the Pats could have had 1 S more »

I can't stand Jim Harbaugh but I agree that the refs must have been told to keep the flags in their pockets. Another hit to the head that caused a fumble and no flag?? A receiver that covers the eyes more »

Everyone discounts injuries! This "next man up" is romantic nonsense. Talent wins! We lost some of our best before and during the game. No Gronk, Edelman then no Jones, Talib, Love (and maybe a sick Q more »

Great analysis. I agree with everything. But I will say I thought the replay shows that 35 yr old Brady would have gotten tackled from behind before the four yards (Ngata under full steam?).

Good article. Pats fans have this superstition that "next guy up" can do the job. Talent Wins!! With Gronk (supposed to be our #1 offensive threat) and Jones and Edelman and Talib out, we are a lesser more »

Best analysis I have read so far. But the offense has to make changes as well. This "next man up" philosophy sounds noble but the Pats need Gronk to stay healthy and they need to get bigger and better more »

carlton111, assuming you're not just a Jets troll, see winslow1191 below for some real analysis. Bringing up Spygate justs makes you look ignorant.

You mean Montana's 49ers teams that abused the salary cap to stockpile star players? I agree though; we will ride Brady for a couple more years and still be a top 6-8 team, but not able to win the big more »

Oh too bad. He snubbed the talking heads! It looked like he had good words for John Harbaugh when they met at midfield. I was glad to see that.

It's pretty clear the formula to beat the Pats is a great defense, a hot quarterback and tall receivers. Our tallest receiver Gronk has been out for the two biggest games the last two years. How many more »

After the past two weeks, this is a trap game if there ever was one. Let's hope the Pats show up.....

I haven't seen much talk about the Special teams. On most Pats returns, there was holding or very little yardage. Wes is a solid receiver and has a big heart but lack of a threat at this position wil more »

It really brings home that this year reflects "On any given day". All the best teams have suffered and delivered blowouts. Pats, Win the last two, get healthy and let's see what happens!.

How dare BB not be a fortune teller! Maybe he should carry Brady to his car in case Tom might fall down the stairs (a low risk activity he has done a thousand times). I have seen nothing but support more »

Yeah it was definitely a penalty but you want some attitude from your defense.
Posted 10/15/2012 03:56:07 EDT
I am becoming convinced that the Pats should play 4th quarters like it was 3rd quarter. I would rather see them lose on a risky play (now) than this slow death of 3 and out and then giving up long pas more »
