Right, GT327. The post makes it look like the Pats could have had *both* Oher and Matthews. As for the actual options. I'm fine passing on Oher based on the feeling that Vollmer is a better fit for th more »

I see this signing as the best of a lot of mediocre options. To read some of the other posters you'd think the league was lining up to trade their best SS to Theo. Not happening. Getting a proven vet more »

At the risk of adding to the cacophony of complaints about letting Alex Gonzalez go, couldn't the Sox have just signed him for $3M to be an insurance policy? It's not like that kind of money would rea more »

Good deal. Everybody's happy here right? I was a little worried that we might bring Wagner back after hearing some of the rumors. The trade was both for Wagner and the draft picks we were going to get more »

Wilhite had a bad game, but I think he's been solid overall. Partly it's just a matter of expectations though--I seen him as more of a rotation guy than a shutdown corner and think he's probably just more »

...luckily BB doesn't coach the game worried about what armchair commentators like us are going to say after the game. Rather, I'm sure he cares and doesn't like the abuse he's getting, but he knows t more »

One other is much easier to justify the use of instant replay in football than baseball (though I still think football has too much replay). In the NFL it is win-or-go-home in the playoffs. more »

Please no more instant replay. I really hate it. For one, it slows down the game. (Isn't baseball slow enough for you all?) Second, it takes some of the excitement out of it. I am no longer cheering a more »

BB can make as many "miscues" as he wants with 5th round picks and low-priced veteran signings and it won't negatively impact the future of the team. Who cares? You want to see some real miscues? Look more »

Who knows? Maybe they plan to resign him later? Maybe they in fact are trying to shed salary for a trade? Maybe they are preparing to activate someone of PUP? Maybe a weird vote of confidence in ADT? more »

Even if the Sox are indeed entering a "rebuilding" mode next year it it almost impossible for them not to be contenders at the same time. Take the worst case scenario where they let Bay go, only sign more »

I'm pretty sure Thomas is untradeable for cap reasons. The accelerators that hit if he's traded are more than the $5M or so that the Pats have free. Unless there is a practical way of trading him, why more »
