Dempster is on thin ice. Too many bad starts that remind you of the dark days of Tim Wakefield. He might know how to pitch but his stuff is very hittable. Sometimes it looks like batting practice.

Easily the best defensive first baseman of his time. Nobody could turn the 3-6-3 double play like Scott and very few could scoop balls out of the dirt to make his infield much better than they were. H more »
