Below, I just wrote about signing the mature Rutgers guys early and the others late.

Comment on: Another Patriots draft pick signs: CB Logan Ryan - Extra Points - Boston.com
The Rutgers guys are reportedly good professional character guys. Sign them quick and let them lift weights in Foxboro without issues. The other deaft choices are more questionable. Put their bonus more »

Comment on: In surprise move, Patriots release Kyle Love - Extra Points - Boston.com
Just speculation, but Love may have been hiding his diabetes from the coaches. He must have known and the coaches might have suspected. Hiding the disease from the coaches, to the point where Love's more »

Comment on: DL Deaderick, WR Holmes released by Patriots; two offensive linemen added - Extra Points - Boston.com
Churning in the offseason is important to the Belichick system. It's like having dozens of extra seventh round picks. First BB and staff put all sorts of prospects through tryouts. Then the good on more »

Comment on: Track a priority for Jeff Demps in 2013 - Extra Points - Boston.com
Take #1: Track stars don't get life-ruining traumatic brain injuries. All the money in the world can't buy back a working brain. My guess is that Demps will see if he can make a living at track. If more »

Comment on: A few details on Brady's contract - Extra Points - Boston.com
Many 38 year old quarterbacks aren't worth $10 million or more per year. Brady? Maybe yes, maybe no. If I were him I'd lock in an extra $50 million in mad money for someday, especially with the Pat more »

Comment on: Sunday NFL Combine update - Extra Points - Boston.com
Football isn't about some guy's love life or lack thereof, especially if the guy isn't going to drop into the late twenties.

Comment on: Dimitroff: flat cap changing the game - Extra Points - Boston.com
"Dimitroff said the flat cap puts a premium on drafting well, and developing talent from within." Now we know a bit more about BB picking up (but not drafting) Jeff Demps, Jake Ballard and Armond Arms more »

Comment on: Vollmer had clean-up surgery - Extra Points - Boston.com
The front office will be somewhat afraid to franchise damaged goods. What if the surgery didn't quite clean up the problem? Also, what if the back problem comes back? If who you once were is who yo more »

Comment on: Former Patriots LB Pierre Woods still chasing NFL dream - Extra Points - Boston.com
To be precise, the one very successful alumnus, Adam V., was found by the Patriots' scouting department. I wouldn't be surprised to find Patriots scouts performing due diligence on these marginal guy more »

Comment on: NFL teams can start playing tag today - Extra Points - Boston.com
Talib is crazy talk. The guy comes here and spends almost all his time on the bench. He gets injured twice in about eight weeks. BB needs players who can play. His rep is that of a complete brainl more »

Comment on: Former Patriot Ron Brace to sign with Redskins - Extra Points - Boston.com
Every single Patriots player, no matter what his value, will be overvalued by the rest of the league. That's because, first, everyone trusts Bill Belichick's reputation of getting the right guy, and more »

"Or, you can live in South Florida in the off season. :)"
This is the second season in a row where Foxboro hosted two January games.

Comment on: Patriots tackle shovels out - Extra Points - Boston.com
Most people who look that overweight shouldn't be shoveling heart attack snow. Big Vince gets truckloads of cardio at work, so for him it's different.
Wilfork also plows through double teams.

Comment on: 49ers' Kaepernick named NFC player of the week - Extra Points - Boston.com
Let's imagine that Mark Sanchize was just named AFC Player of the Week after fumbling the ball four times in one game and throwing one interception right into a cornerback's chest. A face plant is op more »

A real trap game has a major opponent before the game and a major opponent after the game. When the New York Jets were down 35-3 at the half, do you suppose Tom Brady was thinking, "Man I've got to p more »

Comment on: Aqib Talib addresses Patriots media, sticks to football - Patriots - Boston.com
If Talib seems to be working out after three or four games, yes he can be signed to a multiyear. There's a cost to him waiting until the postseason ends, and then he might be injured and no one will more »

Comment on: Trade for Talib a desperate move for Patriots - Extra Points - Boston.com
A reasonable amount of Talib's character risk activities are getting kind of old. He was a fool and a pot stoner in high school, in college and for his first 12 months in the NFL. In the past 3 year more »

Comment on: Patriots receiver Wes Welker sees Jets secondary as âvery competitiveâ - Patriots - Boston.com
Is Wes Welker lying or is he practicing for some candidate's debate? Cromartie is in terrible shape these days. Kyle Wilson has subpar NFL length at his position.

Comment on: Week 3: Thursday injury/participation report - Mankins added - Extra Points - Boston.com
Mankins was the worst player on the offensive line last week, said profootballfocus.com. At least it wasn't his knee, so maybe Mankins can recover in a reasonable time.

Comment on: Patriots sign RB Hilliard, waive OL Tennant - Extra Points - Boston.com
Bonus: he spent the last four seasons with the Dolphins. He knows their many weaknesses. Always good to get the inside dirt on a team the Patriots play twice. Maybe BB got his fullback.

Comment on: Patriots sign RB Hilliard, waive OL Tennant - Extra Points - Boston.com
Whoops. 240 pounds. BB needs a sledgehammer. more »
It's a good sign that Brady's offense just set an NFL record for most first downs in a 16 game season. If TB simply isn't going backwards, that's enough.
