My post got a little messed up in translation. That's election integrity activist Brad Friedman, and you don't really have to read the quote from Robert Parry twice.
Posted 04/01/2014 12:36:19 EDT
Actually, timc5, you got it backwards. As pointed out by election integrity activity Brad Friedman at http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5940, "Al Gore won [PDF]. Of course, that's only if one bothers to co more »

Posted 03/19/2014 02:04:21 EDT
The statistic notably missing from Mr. Coolidge's letter is what the charter school graduation rate from four-year colleges is. Is it better than non-exam schools in Boston? If it were, why wouldn't more »
Comment on: j - Opinion - The Boston Globe
Posted 03/18/2014 11:42:55 EDT
My sense is that the HYM proposal won "support" rather than support. It was seen as the least bad, not as good. I maintain that there can be a good project that we would actually support, but the Co more »

That's not completely true. There's one bus an hour from Mishawum Station on the commuter rail, as I recall from doing it when I got called for jury duty several years ago. We can thank Clerk of Cou more »
Comment on: How to manage a crisis â Christie-style - Opinion - The Boston Globe
Posted 01/14/2014 01:24:57 EST
What apology? There was plenty of Christie's painting himself as the victim, but very little acknowledgment of the real impact of these actions on his constituents.
Comment on: Ariad puts hold on move to new Kendall Square headquarters - Business - The Boston Globe

Could Brian Murphy's quote have been any more inane? It makes me wonder whether that was the most intelligent thing he said to Mr. Weisman.

What's the holdup? Well, for starters, your online banking transactions need to be linked to you personally. Your vote, on the other hand, is supposed to be secret, i.e., not linked to you. How do more »

Don't shed any tears for MIT. Most of this land has been part of their campus for decades. They bought it for very little and have never paid any taxes on it because it was being used for their tax- more »

How do we know what the market will bear if we never test it?
Posted 03/19/2013 11:11:28 EDT
One of the things that should have been part of a search would have been an examination of where we want to go as a city. At some point we will have built on every square inch, and the Healy model of more »
