Absolutely! And the Federal government needs to take a closer look at how they've contributed to this with grants and loans flowing out the door too. Competition isn't allowed to work with all this more »

Thank you, Jennifer, for putting this headline in proper perspective. This is after all a socioeconomic issue. Poor women don't have options.

Martha, I don't know how old you are, but you couldn't be more wrong about Steinem. First of all, she said some 40 odd years ago and still contends that "Most women are one man away from welfare." more »

Good article, but unrealistic that any change will happen. The Church has always viewed women as "breeders," not equal partners in anything. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, as the song goes more »

Nobody wants to talk about the issue of part-time female doctors. Success as a doctor has a lot to do with "mileage." The more patients you've treated, the better you get at making diagnoses and ope more »
Comment on: Failure to indict truck driver for death of a cyclist reveals bias - Editorials - The Boston Globe

What a great idea. I drive through Cambridge and Somerville with such dread that I may inadvertently hit a cyclist. The roads are too narrow and some cyclists at night don't wear reflective clothes.
Comment on: Synod leader sorry for Newtown pastor reprimand - Nation - The Boston Globe

The "business" of the prayer vigil was to ask God to bring those slaughtered childrens' souls to rest. Where the heck does church doctrine have any place in this. Huh?

Smart move. Better to confine your bigotry to your own pulpit.
