Self-employment is not the kiss of death. Of course, you need to make money as well. But just being self-employed will not preclude one from getting a loan and this is a foolish statement.

Not neccessarily. Redfin subcontracts out buyers under a certain price point. Last I knew it was $300k in the Boston area. Then they take a hefty referral fee from the subcontracted broker. I know more »
