We only get one pick if we are lucky when Ellsbury leaves. It is not definite. The new CBA is complicated but it does provide less compensation for lost FA generally. I may be wrong but I don't think more »

Ellsbury should be in his prime. If we are going to make a run next year Ellsbury is probably a big part of that. If we were going to retool we should have started that process last week but we didn't more »

I stand corrected on Salty's mlb time. He only had 30 AB of mlb time in 2010, which would have been his 5th year. Even with that it is still 4 years of mlb time, of which only one year involved a batt more »

I think he has a shot to stay at SS. Today he went 4 for 4 with two doubles and 2 walks. I don't care where he plays as long as he can keep that up. He's now hitting .301 with good pop as a 19 year ol more »

With Salty having 2 really bad CERA years in a row, on top of a number of bad years before that, at least statistically it appears he is not an optimal fit. more »

A huge factor in all of this is do we have a special player in Lavarnway? His minor league numbers say maybe we do. His fit for Fenway park indicates that he might well benefit from hitting in Fenway. more »

Salty has now had 5 seasons of mlb now, with a short call up in the 6th. He really has had a lot of time to show he belongs. He does belong. He just isn't good enough, when we have a guy who had much more »
