Haven't been around in awhile, so apologies if this has been addressed (I am not about to ready the entire thread). I have for the longest time felt that this question is one of the most ridiculous th more »

    Very true, very smart.

It is still their way of doing things.  Signing free agents and putting little attention to drafting players.

Well, they did say that the Sox aren't finished yet, so lets see what else they are going to do.   But I agree 100% that they need to do something with the OF, which they probably will. I think they n more »

Everybody is trying to figure how low the Yankees first draft pick is going to be.  Is this really a surprise to anyone?  Isn't this the "Yankee way" for the past 15 years or so?  Signing high price more »

  • Forum Post: Would this deal get Stanton?

    Posted 12/06/2013 01:25:23 EST

If Stanton is not available at all, well then fine.  I guess a lot of the other posters out there also have the mindset of "if" he was available.  However, ...... If Doubront was the pitcher, then fin more »

WOW!   If 4 good prospects (Bradley Jr, Middlebooks, Vasquez or Swihart, and say DeLaRosa, Webster or Barnes) plus a solid guy in Nava wouldn't get it done, then why is he even talked about?  I would more »

Assuming the Sox sign one of the OF'ers that have been mentioned (Kemp, Either, Shoo, or Granderson), as well as Drew,  I think all of these guys are expendable.  But, would it be enough? JBJ, Middleb more »

I mean "wouldn't" think that Lackey is as sure of a bounce back as the other guys.

     - I can't think of a single reason why not to expect Lester from bouncing back.  I would actually lean on saying that it is a sure thing.  - Health is the only thing that will keep Buch from bouncing more »

Sorry Moon.  Never really learned how to copy and paste a comment from a different poster to show the difference in "boldness" indicating the comment from poster to another.

That's the gamble. If he does much better this year, we'll wish we had locked him up at a reasonable rate this winter.   He improved immensely on defense and handling the staff last summer. He's at a more »

You still have to have both the talent and the mentality.  Spending time with someone has nothing to do with that

I could spend 10years with them and still not be able to throw like they do.

Nice post slomag. I don't buy the umps giving Lester a break because of his cancer.  "MAYBE" you have some warrant if it was just 1 year.  But, Lester pitched very good for 4 years. I am sure that the more »

Although it may have some factor, you don't really base a pitchers ERA and performance on the SS.  A pitcher has to pitch, and if he does, his stats will be good regardless of who the SS is. I am not more »

How many years before he is eligible?  I think he will definitely be a first timer.  He was really in a class of his own in both leagues.  His candid personality doesn't hurt either.
