  I would have rather seen them get Lars Anderson (for nothing) or make a real trade for Smoak.  Hopefully Carp can get it done.

  Any word on Lars? DFA has what, ten days to make a move? I can't see why the Sox wouldn't at least bring him in to compete with Hamilton for the backup 1B / LF spot.

  Who gets left off? Traded? DFA? Seems like Mortenson, Aceves, Bard and Miller are all competing of one spot. I would start Bard at AAA to rebuild some confidence as a shut down 8th inning reliever. I more »

  They could do worse than Youk on a short term deal. He started to decline when he moved to third. I think he could still play a decent first base. I would rather trade for a young, powerful 1st baseme more »
