"Secondly the FO has made it clear that for the coming year the policy is cheap...cheap...cheap and no FA signings of significance."
Forum Post: Theo, try this trade for David Wright?

Ummm, Josh Beckett in 2006? 200 innings and 16 wins, sure. Can you say cherry picking stats? How about his 1.3 WHIP, an ERA over 5 and 36 (!) Homeruns given up. Beckett did not have a good first year more »
Forum Post: Why is Peter Abraham disrespectful to his audience? What do you think?

I get that those are idiotic questions - and I'm sure he gets a ton of them - but Pete does choose which questions he answers in the chats. He could just as easily ignore the insulting/stupid/repeteti more »

I agree. I would also prefer Teagarden but not for Buchholz. Bowden, fine. I remember yelling for a Coco-Teagarden trade last off-season before the Rangers traded for Josh Hamilton. more »
Forum Post: Red Sox Payroll: Going Up!

Maybe Lester, too. Damn. In all this talk of signing Tex and how they could use Manny's salary savings to get it done, I never took into account the, probably, $50 million these 4 young guys will requ more »

No doubt. There are a lot of young guys looking to cash in in the next couple of years. I fully expect the Sox to try and lock-up Youk, Paps and Pedroia to long-term deals this winter. more »

Interesting. Good info. I'm really torn between him and Teagarden. The conventional wisdom is that Teagarden is more polished defensively but doesn't have as high a ceiling offensively. But Salty hasn more »

"Want nothing to do with" might have been a little extreme, sure. But I do not want the Sox to sign him for 4-5 years at $15-18 mil per. As you said, he's very injury prone and has only exceeded 200 i more »

I don't want anything to do with Burnett. I hope the reports aren't true. I think the addition of Ramirez means Masterson will be starting. more »
Forum Post: Coco traded to KC

I'll second PSFever. I don't know much about Ramirez, so I'll have to withhold judgment (his numbers against righties are nice, though). But a starting CF for just a relief pitcher doesn't seem like a more »

Interesting.71 Games, 71.2 innings, 2.64 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 70KDoesn't thrill me. I wonder if that means Masterson will be starting. more »

I think with how few qualty shortstops there are out there, Cabrera will be able to find a starting job no problem. Khalil Green's name was floated around a few weeks back. more »

Lowell would be a pricey utility player, but it'd probably be the best solution since he wouldn't garner much in a trade. Maybe let him prove he's healthy, raise his value and then move him once the s more »

Forum Post: I would rather have Martin

That's why I don't see them getting Martin . I think Youk and Pedroia are untouchable. Scenarios like trading Pedroia for Martin and then signing Orlando Hudson or trading Youk for Martin and signing more »

I think if they sign Tex they could trade Coco and include Lowell (much like the way we got Lowell in the first place - they'd obviously have to eat some of his salary). The Brewers could be in the ma more »

Jeez, you guys should get bent out of shape easily. Yes. I forgot that Lowell was born in Puerto Rico. Sorry about that. Add him to the list (although he could be on his way out if the Sox sign Tex). more »
