Forum Post: We need to play more pick n pop!
Posted 11/24/2014 12:32:26 EST
I have noticed Sully and Kelly's improvement in man to man D. They stay between their man and the rim and just make him go through or over them without biting the fakes. Easier said than done, and the more »

Sully, Bass,Kelly,Bradley,Green could be the beneficiaries after picking for Rondo. Rondo and Pressey know how to run the pick n pop. I noticed the Blazers had certain plays they like to run with more »

Three guys I noticed doing that against Memphis was Sully, Turner and Pressey. Sully and Pressy did it to stop penetration, they just stayed too long on it. I did not know what Turner was constan more »

Kelly has done good with his pump and pass fakes. His dribble left spin back right has put him to the line everytime! Now I want to see him dribble right, spin back left into the paint, up fake and th more »

1.Be smart and physical. Be as physical as the refs allow. Calling ticky tacks, you have to flop, if not, BRING THE PAIN! Shoulders into chests under the rim(A Bass and Sully specialty, but Kelly an more »

Kelly still did not make himself into a pump-fake fool like Bass did. All night!
Kelly stayed on his feet making shooters pass the ball.
Forum Post: Marcus Thornton for Closer!

I agree with Thornton and Turner and Green as closers. They know how to get buckets like Zeller and Olynyk and Sully. I think Thornton over Turner unless Thornton is off that day.

I like the the offense reviving the college 3 and shots at the elbows. We dont seem to know how to move the defense in crunch time. I would run curls to the rim like they did with Dragic. Jeff would h more »

Who draws up a play to make Avery Bradley pass or handle the ball while Rondo stands in a corner? Brad Stevens play calling lost this one. The only guys to be found dribbling in crunch time should be more »

I particularly loved Kells savvy on D and O. -A challenger got too close on one of his jump-shots and he got the refs attention by falling. (One day he will get that call) -He drove and went up tall more »

In response to sycophant123's comment: There is no doubr Olynyk could average 18-20 points a game with enough minutes and touches. He is a very good offensive player. People had trouble getting open. more »

So Kelly knocks down consecutive 3's in the 3rd and we don't get him anymore shots?
That's where the game was lost.

OKC wore our perimeter defenders down with physical picks. Thats why Morrow and Jackson got off. Our pick setters are not as big and strong or versatile. Some teams have the perfect balance of physica more »

In response to CeltsFanInNH's comment: I believe Kelly is currently the top scoring player from his draft class. Not bad for the 13th pick. Yeah, but he can be even better! He has Dirk/Detlef potenti more »

When Kelly gets it at the elbow that is a chance for him to raise his knee and fade. Then the next time at the elbow he draws a double and gives Bradley that extra second for the corner 3. Kelly also more »

We have too many players trying to block fade aways. Bass against Taj Gibson and Olynyk against Brooks at the 3 point line. Both guys left their feet, hurting the team with foul calls. I am a fan of more »
