    No one is trashing Betts. Some of us are pointing out his deficient OBP. None of us claimed it could not be corrected. It is up to Farrell to make lineup adjustments as needed, and so far, he hasn't.

    Betts' job is to get on base and set the table for the power hitters, not to drive the ball. His job is to get on base any way he can. The leadoff hitter should have a high OBP.

    Mookie is hitting too many flyballs, not enough line drives or groundballs. He has hit 46.8% FB and only 17.3% LD. That's what Fangraphs has for him as of today. Flyballs are easier to turn into outs more »

    You don't get credit for how hard you hit the ball, only for the ones that fall safely. The Mookie fan club is trying too hard to find numbers to "prove" he is not the hitter his numbers say he is.
