Absolutely, Edmonton will try to force Chia's hand in that situation.  I believe Chia should do it.  The Bruins really don't need a 4th centerman next year and making a deal like that would be a great more »

Geez - you're still missing the boat... You can only fall one place so worst-case scenario right now is selecting 4th in the draft.  I hope nobody uses this discussion forum as a source of information more »

No one is going to take on that contract now that Bob Gainey has left the league.  He is the only one dumb enough to trade for a bad contract (Scott Gomez).  We're stuck with him Boston.  We just have more »

    1. I think he likes it here and New England is his home. 2. I also don't think a team like Chicago, who has cap problems next year, would trade for a 35+ year-old contract with 3 years left on it.  Wh more »

Miro Satan is awful. Why is he still in the lineup?  On the "first" line?!?!

    It's not 1998 anymore.

Tim Thomas not going anywhere.  Forget about it.  It's simple - he's not going to waive his no-trade.

You guys are forgetting that Toronto sent Ian White to Calgary as part of the deal...he is arguably as good a defenseman as Phaneuf THIS YEAR...this trade was great for the B's.  Toronto will not impr more »

Definitely Burke semantics - Toronto now has 5 D-Men with at least a $3.5M cap hit under contract for next year.  Burke will get rid of one of them. Kaberle would help the Bruins tremendously - we're more »

This team needs defensemen that can start the offense - not an overpriced "sniper". Dennis Wideman was a breakout star last year and has fallen off the planet. Combine that with injuries and the force more »

Yah - it's a wet dream.  Burke was referring more to the monstrous bad contracts like Drury's in New York.  Ryder's isn't nearly as bad - that's why i have a little hope.  Kaberle is the wish. Poni is more »

This is my prediction for what the Bruins end up with as far as a forward.  The wet dream would be packaging something to get Kaberle as well.  As has been reported, Burke will take on salary as long more »

Reality - Alex Ponikarovsky will be the guy the Bruins end up acquiring (UFA left-handed shot who can put pucks in the net without a large cap number) and maybe a depth defenseman a la Steve Montador more »
