I have a new rule when dealing with Scab fans who bring up the cup history: "wow, you must have been on the edge of your seat when Aurel Joliat put them up 2-1 with 5 minutes to go!" "Man, you must ha more »

jm - disagree with #4.  Raises, yes. Big raises...well, $1M is a big raise in real dollars, but when it's only 25% of the contract's value....

Holy frejoles, is there ever a lot of this going on right now.  And fair enough.  It's a question for the Bruins as they look at whether or not to extend Krejci, Boychuk, Paille, Campbell and Soderber more »

Not to argue with myself, but the main reason Subban and Krug are on different levels has nothing to do with offensive stats, or even defensive ability.  Subban's not a great defender.  He makes some more »

If there is, it's not helping Nash. I think there's a long-standing belief that this guy has more to give than what we've seen.  His first full year in Columbus, he had 25 points in 31 games - a 66 po more »

Blah blah blah, skating blah blah, puck possession entries, blah blah, accurate shots blah. That pretty much covers it.  A lot of Subban's offense is predicated on his shot - it's heat and accuracy - more »

I'm just not as bullish on the contract market as some.  I don't think he's going to do a whole lot better next year on a longer term deal.  I could see him getting his $8.5 over 8 next year, maybe, b more »

Yeah, I've been assuming it will be something in the Letang range for a while.  No way do I make him the highest paid D in the league though.  Not a chance.

Easy.  Trade Lars Volden for him, send him to Malmo for six years, then bring him back to centre the third line.

Yeah, I dispute the idea that Smith can't create his own chances.  I might even go so far as to say Smith uses his teammates better, and that's one of the reasons Julien will use him on the left point more »
