In response to GoUconn13's comment: maybe it is the good time to try Kelly as a closer and see if he is capable to be a closer I don't think it matters where he pitches. If he can't locate his fastbal more »

Maybe because it's a lost season, he's a struggling player clinging on for his MLB life, and finally got a hit in his previous at bat. If he could have come up with a big hit in that situation it coul more »

In response to ctredsoxfanhugh's comment: I'm not sure how I feel about Zimmermann, he's a pitch to contact kind of guy and I'm not sure how he ages or plays up in Boston.  Also a down defensive year more »

In response to jam789123's comment: Greinke's psyche is so fragile that he makes Buchholz look like Bob Gibson.  He will never come to Boston. I would reccommend reading the SI article on him, his pys more »

Pretty much the numbers he was putting up in LA. Not too surprised. Thought maybe he'd hit more HRs given the weight he gained though.

Greinke is one of my favorite players, but I don't think he goes to Boston. He will probably opt out then re-sign with the Dodgers. I think Jordan Zimmerman signs with the Sox.    And none of you onli more »

Games are somewhat fun to watch when the younger guys are playing. Napoli 0-5, Ortiz 1-4, Ramirez 1-4 right in the heart of the lineup and still 11 runs.    Would be nice to see Owens or Johnson pitch more »

Bullpen arms are so unpredictable, with the exception of the really elite relievers. Doesn't hurt to add a guy who was once good, and is still pretty young. Could benefit them down the road. Gave up n more »

What is he supposed to do? None of the players he wants to move hold a lot of value. Napoli will probably be dumped sometime before the deadline, but I doubt 2 months of a .200 hitter will result in m more »

Living in Nats territory, this team is good enough to win the WS. They aren't going to trade anyone away. It's almost too bad Storen is losing his job. He's been fantastic this year.

Shouldn't you always use your best option first in this situation? The idea from the pitching perspective is to keep the game tied until your offense can score. Uehara is their best arm in the bullpen more »

They should send him down to AAA and let him work at 1B for 2016. There's no point in grooming him to be a catcher when the longterm plan is Christian Vasquez.

1 hitter last week, no hitter this week... next start should be the perfect game. Lame little HBP that Tabata leaned into with 2 outs on the 9th.
