I lived in LA during the '84 Olympics. There is no "dollar value" that could convey the civic LIFT those games gave, to every person in the Southland, and for years thereafter.

I am totally with Jeff on this one. I never feel PROUDER than when I stand in line with my fellow citizens at my South End polling place. Screw "convenience." Give me civic responsibility. more »

One more use for the money might be to slather a layer of asphalt on the roadway of the South Station-to-Courthouse tunnel! How a brand-new roadway could be so BUMPY-- it's quite beyond me. more »
