Meriweather was the best safety in the NFL not named Troy Polamalu over the first 8 games - including Ed Reed. He's come back to earth a bit, but as the Jags game should make abundantly clear, he is f more »

Meriweather deserves it. Gostkowski (obviously) deserves it. Wes is having a great year and you could make the case, but it's no stretch to put Andre Johnson over him, and quiet as he may be, Vincent more »

If they can get another big DE to replace Seymour in the draft in the next two years, they'll be set for 5-8 years. The young talent on this defense (Mayo, Meriweather, Butler, Wilhite, Bodden, McGowa more »

Butler is their #3 CB and an occasional starter as a rookie at one of the NFL's most difficult positions to pick up right away.  He makes some mistakes, but make no mistake, he is good. more »

    We're 5-2.

I will say that I believe we'd beat either of those teams if they were up next week, but we did definitely lose both of those games.

I wish I saw this sooner. EDELMAN IS THE 2ND STRING. Edelman is who goes in when we want to pull our starters.  You can't just literally not play the game.  You still have to field the team, and roste more »

    I vote for T.O.

But purely because watching Belichick melt his soul would be amusing as hell.

Kerry Rhodes is not Anthony Smith. If Brady can pull it off, I'm sure he will, but do you really think the Pats have the kind of swagger to do that against a tough, blitzing defense this year?  I sure more »

He actually was getting pretty good pressure, though not on a consistent basis.  Flushed Edwards from the pocket a number of times.

It's not all about the sacks, though he did get one.

The only way this was a good deal is if you assume the Pats will be super contenders with Brady and Moss at 36, 37 years old.  They might be - I wouldn't rule anything out where Tom Brady is concerned more »
