Yankees break a rule and Joe Torre says nothing to see here. No surprise.

I don't hate the kids, but I do hate the coach and the amount of love the media has given him. The media speaks out of both sides of their mouth condemning one and done and then lauding the programs t more »

An unusually good column today. Maybe becuase Nick is finally reading our comments. The explanation for why he is a walking Boras mouthpiece was a little light though.
Posted 03/31/2014 12:55:54 EDT
At least Nick dialed back the Boras influence this week. We did have the uniquely talented Ellabury and some thinly veiled whining about draft picks, but I'll take that anyday than the blatent panderi more »

The Drew piece was bad on Thursday. Does the Globe actually pay you to recycle it on Sunday as well? But we get it, Boras wants you to get his opinion out there as much as possible about Drew and draf more »

Where is Scott Boras' byline? Nick has been parroting Scott all winter. I think the vast majority of us wouldn't turn down $14.5M to play ball for a year. I bet even fewer of us would complain about more »

Of course we have another defense of Boras. Predictable story including the reuse of the Ortiz paragraph from earlier in the week.

the blame is not entirely Theo's as management was all over him to make the moves.

Larry gets a makeover thanks to the John Henry owned Globe. I can't wait to read Dan's love letter to Tom next week.

Papi should be thanking his agent for what he has gotten at his age. His mistake was taking his complaints public again. Now he is upset with the media spotlight that he brought on himself. Ugh.

really? Nothing to write about with the Olympics going on? I hope he sends the check back for this one.

The issue isn't wanting an extension. The issue is repeatedly pleading his case in the media every year. He should keep it in house like Tom Brady and other great athletes do.

According to the comments about Seattle's roster during the game Chris is dead wrong. They stressed getting value deep in the draft and with players off the street. Very Patriot like. What we don't ne more »

Noting dampens the offseason like the Diva DH's cries of disrespect.

Here he goes again. It was only a matter of time until we heard this from him.
Posted 01/26/2014 08:57:59 EST
He acted like a thug. There is no implied racism in that term. He did it to get media attention and he is playing the race card to keep it going.

No Peterson under pitching coaches after all of the ink spent on him.
Posted 01/23/2014 02:24:11 EST
Always good to hear from a columnist that wants a fantasy football team versus a real team built with a salary cap. You can't have all of the good players and still have depth. This year is a great ex more »

The Yankees finally get a player under 30. He'll have to explain twitter and snapchat to all his teammates.

And long gone are the best days of the Globe's sportswriters. No more Gammons, Ryan and McDonough. We now have the dribble of Dan, Cafardo, and gang.

Incredible revisionist history on Ellsbury. He and (nick's good friend) Scott Boras were never interested in working a long term deal before free agency. He wanted to test the market. You can't blame more »

The NFL seems to have figured out the system better.

This column should start out with "I was wrong". It's ok, we're all wrong from time to time, and this piece on the Blue Jays calls for it. We had to suffer all of last winter with story after story on more »

The Orioles piece could have been written by Scott Boras, who expressed similar complaints at the Pirates years ago. You can make a big splash signing high dollar free agents (Angels) or you can build more »

The question is how much is he worth. A pink hat may be willing to overspend and offer him a contract worth 8 figures a year, but why do it especially if you want him as a defensive replacement for Bo more »
