Update: Joan Rivers in Stable Condition After Being Rushed to New York City Hospital

Joan Rivers was reportedly in critical condition at a New York City hospital after she stopped breathing during surgery on Thursday morning.

According to TMZ, the 81-year-old comedian and host of E!’s “Fashion Police’’ was at an area clinic getting a procedure done on her vocal cords when she stopped breathing.

Rivers was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, sources told the website.

Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the legendary television personality, is reportedly on her way to be at her mother’s side.

Update: E! News is reporting that Rivers’ condition has been upgraded to stable.
