Glenn Adam Chin, 46, was arrested today at Boston Logan International Airport where he was attempting to board a plane to Hong Kong. The US Attorney’s Office and the Justice Department’s Civil Division arrested Chin in connection with the ongoing criminal investigation of the New England Compounding Center (NECC) for the fungal meningitis outbreak that afflicted 751 people and killed 64.

According to the US Attorney’s Office in Boston, although the investigation is ongoing, Chin was arrested for attempting to leave the country. Chin was a supervising pharmacist at NECC during the incident last year and prosecutors say he was involved in the contaminated steroid injection drugs that caused the outbreak.
