If your kids are pre-school age, and you have a little vacation week time saved up – then take your ski vacation next week and save big. Sunday River and Sugarloaf host their annual Children’s Festival Week Jan 9-13, a traditionally slow time period at resorts post holiday and pre-Martin Luther King.
Not only is the Children’s Festival week geared toward young families with entertainment, mascots, family movies and s’mores, but when you book a lodging package for two or more nights (three or more at Sugarloaf), your kids ski free, stay free, and get free rentals and Perfect Turn clinics. It’s such a good deal; you might consider skipping school and work.
You will find the slopes have midweek crowds (read: none) so you can enjoy some serious carving sans kids, while your little skier or ride is with a caring instructor learning better turns and having hot cocoa breaks with other kids. Winner! In the evening, snowtubing and ice skating parties, clowns and magicians, plus s’mores by the fire and fireworks are a few of the après ski for family events planned at each Maine resort.
And I am sure Eddy the Yeti will be out and about for family photos at the River, while his friends Amos the Moose and Blueberry Bear will be pressing their furry flesh at the Loaf. Can Disney hold a candle to that with skiing too?
Check out Children’s Festival at Sugarloaf and Sunday River Jan 9-13, this deal is for ages 4-12 but the kids need to bring their paying parents to enjoy all the fun and freebies.
