Two local trails land on list of the 100 best in the world

It’s a list that includes the likes of The Palisades, at Squaw Valley, and Jackson Hole’s Corbet’s Couloir, so it’s probably of little surprise that only two New England ski trails made the cut.

CNN asked a panel of some of the world’s best skiers to rank their favorite trails in compiling its list of the world’s 100 best. Killington’s Outer Limits (No. 54) and Mad River Glen’s Paradise (45) were the locals that made the list.

The panel consisted of Andrew Weibrecht, Olympic medalist and U.S. ski team member; John Stifter, editor at U.S. ski bible Powder magazine; Mike Douglas, and creator of the world’s first twin-tip ski; and Nicola Iseard, editor of the UK’s top ski magazine, Fall Line.

Number one does have a local connection though. Snowboarding godfather Jake Burton helped to design The Stash, in Avoriaz, France.

Any other runs that should have made the list?
