American Repertory Theater gets grant funds to upgrade Loeb Drama Center

The American Repertory Theater has upgraded the lighting and projection systems at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, using a grant of nearly $150,000 from MassDevelopment, the state’s finance and development agency, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Marty Jones, the president and CEO of MassDevelopment, said in a statement that the money is intended to support the ART’s work in “expanding the boundaries of theater.’’
The money to renovate the Loeb was derived from the Cultural Facilities Fund, which is administered by MassDevelopment in conjunction with the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
In a statement, ART artistic director Diane Paulus said her company “deeply appreciates the program’s support of our mission to expand the boundaries of theater. The upgrades made to our mainstage through this grant allow us to continue to provide world-class theater for audiences from all across the Commonwealth.’’
