The Beatles ‘Get Back’ to vinyl
We saved our original Beatles albums from the 60s hoping they’d be worth enough to put our kids through college. How’d that work out? The albums are in the basement; the kids are out of college; we’re out of money.
And now our records won’t even be that rare anymore. On Nov. 13 EMI Music is releasing the Beatles original studio album remasters on vinyl. The restoration process was quite laborious, according to a release. For example, electrical clicks, microphone vocal pops, excessive sibilance (whatever that is), and bad edits were improved, but not at the expense of the integrity of the songs. So, if you prefer your music on vinyl, ask Santa, Hanukkah Harry, the tooth fairy, or any gift giver in your life for an early holiday present.
Oh, there will be only 50,000 copies worldwide, so get your sleeping bag and tent ready. A few more details can be found here.
