“Women of Will,’’ Tina Packer’s theatrical examination of the central role played by female characters in shaping the works of William Shakespeare, is slated for an Off-Broadway run that will begin in January.

To star Packer and Nigel Gore, “Women of Will’’ will be directed by Eric Tucker, thus reuniting the team that collaborated on the show’s world premiere in 2010 at the Lenox-based (and Packer-founded) Shakespeare & Company.

Previews will begin Jan. 27 at the Gym at Judson, with the opening set for Feb. 3. “Women of Will’’ is slated to run through June 2.

In her review of the Shakespeare & Company production, Globe theater critic Louise Kennedy described “Women of Will’’ as “a dazzling and illuminating piece of work. For anyone who cares about women, Shakespeare, or especially women in Shakespeare, it’s not to be missed.’’
