Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Clint Eastwood, George Murphy, Al Franken, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other actors have done it. Will Ashley Judd do it? The 44-year-old actress and daughter of Naomi Judd might be considering a 2014 run for the U.S. Senate against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, according to Politico.
An eighth-generation Eastern Kentuckian, Hollywood star, and humanitarian, Judd, who received a master’s degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government in 2010, is a known commodity and probably has plenty of cash to throw into the campaign coffers. And if things don’t work out in Washington Judd can get out of town fast with hubby Dario Franchitti, a two-time Indy Racing League and Indy 500 champion.
