Capsule review:
With its '60s commune feeling, this place is a JP institution for good reason. The Sunday brunches, particularly, are worth the long wait. Soon after you snag a seat, the plates arrive, piled high with egg dishes that have a Tex-Mex touch. At dinner, dishes such as potato and mushroom stew, a Bombay curry stir-fry, and vegetables in a peanut sauce satisfy the meatless quest. Plenty for carnivores, too.

Great food and great service. The potato and mushroom stew is out of this world. Also, watch the menu for the coconut seafood stew- unbelievably delicious. I just wish it would appear on the menu more often. The wait for a table for brunch is well worth it. The owner is a charming women who always takes a few minutes to chat whenever I am there.
