Capsule review:
Not a single animal product is used in the preparation of any food here. Instead, meat substitutes made of tofu or vegetable protein with perfectly sauced noodles and stir-fry vegetables. The wonton soup has especially convincing faux-pork wrapped in light noodles.

While the food is good, this place is disgustingly gross. The stairs going up to this place (it's on the second floor) are filthy to the Nth degree. The place itself is dingy and threadbare. I hated eating there, because I could not keep my self from wondering what the kitchen must look like if the front of the house was this awful.

This is the only place I INSIST on eating at every time I visit Boston. #51 (formerlly known as #57) is the best thing I've ever eaten and the fresh wrap spring rolls are amazing. The service has always been iffy (the last time I was there the service was surprisingly GREAT) but that would never stop me from eating there...especially with the prices. I love this place.
