While fans of “Sherlock” feared that the show wouldn’t be back until 2016, it looks like the hit BBC drama may be returning to television screens sooner rather than later.
A series of tweets from the official “Sherlock” Twitter feed revealed on Tuesday that a new special and a three-episode season are slated to begin filming in 2015.
Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched season 2 yet, stop reading now.
The show’s Twitter account also teased the return of Sherlock Holmes’ rival, Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott), which is pretty surprising considering the character’s shocking death in the show’s second season.
Since shooting for the special won’t begin until January of next year, the series’ star, Benedict Cumberbatch, will have plenty of time to snack on cannoli before he wraps up filming for “Black Mass” in Boston.
