Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Paul Simon, 72, and his wife, 48-year-old singer Edie Brickell, were arrested on disorderly conduct charges at their New Canaan, Conn. home this weekend, according to the New Canaan Police Department.
The couple is expected to be arraigned on Monday afternoon on charges stemming from an incident which took place on Saturday. Brickell and Simon have been married since 1992.
New Canaan Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski told The Courant that the police received a 911 hang-up call at 8:20 p.m. Saturday. Police responded and investigated, determining that Simon and Brickell were “involved in a minor physical altercation,” per the report.
“There was aggressiveness on both sides,” Krolikowski said.
Brickell and Simon’s attorney, Alan Cramer, told the newspaper that there were “a couple pushes,” and ranked the dispute a 1 out of 10.
Note: An earlier version of this story cited that Simon had been arrested on domestic violence charges per a report from The Hour .
