In May, comedian Will Ferrell and doppleganger/Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith faced off in a drum-off challenge for charity on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

After seeing the lookalikes’ percussion-filled duel, it looks like Lars Ulrich wants to get in on the fun.

The Metallica drummer was called out by Ferrell in a recent interview with Spin, who said he looked “eerily similar” to him and Smith.

“Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith,” Ferrell said. “He can settle that score now, too.”

Responding to the call out, Ulrich had some pretty choice words for Ferrell and Smith.

“It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I’m TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around,” Ulrich said in a statement to Spin. “That said, I’m definitely up for the challenge…Bring it on!!!”

While no date has been set yet for the drum-off, things are already starting to heat up between the rockers, as Smith took to Facebook to respond to the Metallica drummers remarks, saying: “Two pieces of advice for Lars: Leave the double bass drums at home and load up on cowbells!”
