Happy ‘Star Wars’ Day

Star Wars fans like to take a little time each year on this date to say to anyone who will listen (mainly their Twitter followers and Facebook friends) “May the 4th be with you.”

Or, if you happen to be working at Boston.com on May 4, you post a photo of Chewbacca throwing out the first pitch at Fenway in 2005 then you share a link to a video from the funny folks at CollegeHumor that finds artists like Chris Daughtry, Ben Folds, Jordin Sparks, Rick Springfield, Lisa Loeb, Weird Al Yankovic, and others playing characters auditioning for Mos Eisley’s famed Cantina Band.

Star Wars has been in the news recently as the cast was announced for the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are among cast members from the first (1977) Star Wars film who will be returning for the new movie.
