Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie Sign on for ‘Star Wars’

Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is switching gears from serious to sci-fi for a role in “Star Wars: Episode VII.”

Nyong’o, voted People’s most beautiful person this year, and “Game of Thrones” actress Gwendoline Christie were revealed as the latest additions to the film’s cast today, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The actresses join “Star Wars” veterans Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, alongside new franchise faces Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, and Adam Driver for the J.J. Abrams-directed flick.

“Episode VII” is set to open worldwide on Dec. 18, 2015.
