The first of two “Mockingjay” installments in “The Hunger Games” trilogy won’t hit theaters until Nov. 21, but President Snow (Donald Sutherland) has composed a message with a special guest to hold fans over until then.
Spoiler alert: If you haven’t seen (or read) “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” abandon this post now.
The clever folks at Color Force and Lionsgate released the video titled “President Snow’s Panem Address: Together as One,” in which Snow addresses the districts of Panem, basically saying “we’ve taken care of you for years, now obey or you’ll die.”
Part of what he really says is this: “if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.”
After he makes this ominous statement (which is preceeded by a gong very similar to the canon that goes off when tributes are killed), the camera pans back and reveals Peeta Melark (Josh Hutcherson) standing next to him after having been captured by the Capitol when Katniss and friends blew up the arena in “Catching Fire.”
I won’t spoil “Mockingjay” for you, but if you haven’t read it yet (or any of the books for that matter), go pick them up.
“Panem today. Panem tomorrow. Panem forever.”
