Berklee alumna and acclaimed singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge is being tapped to headline the upcoming Berklee Night at the Boston Pops.
The Grammy- and Oscar-winning musician will be featured alongside four up-and-upcoming Berklee musicians at the June 12 event at Symphony Hall.
Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart handpicked the quartet of local artists, which include recent Berklee graduate Sarah Walk, as well as current students Sarah McKenzie, Deni Hlavinka, and Ahmad El Haggar.
According to a Berklee press release, “Each artist will pair with a Berklee student arranger to create orchestrations of their works to be performed with the Pops.”
The upcoming concert will also mark Etheridge’s first-ever appearance with a live symphony orchestra.
Tickets to the June 12 concert are $24-$94 and are available at bso.org.
