Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Tom Petty is set to play Fenway Park this year.
The “Free Fallin” singer-songwriter will help Boston wrap up the summer with a concert on Aug. 30 at America’s oldest major league ballpark, featuring “very special guest” Steve Winwood, as part of a North American tour.
Petty announced the news via Twitter on Monday and it was confirmed by Live Nation this morning.
The Fenway Park coincides with the release of the band’s 13th studio album, “Hypnotic Eye,” which is scheduled to drop on July 29.
Tickets for the show will go on sale June 7 at 10 a.m. via the Red Sox website and range in price from $48.50-$133.50 and will include a copy of the new album, the band’s first in four years.
